Bite and Bowl

4/2/09 - Ballymena

The Ballymena Group recently enjoyed a night out at the local Sportsbowl. After having our taste buds tantalised with a delicious meal at JD’s, it was then time to work off the extra pounds we had just added.

Three teams competed in friendly rivalry.

Team A consisted of Margaret McKay; Margaret Erwin; Ruth McCullough; Emily Campbell; Maureen Allen and Heather Dickey. After a shaky start, the ladies team showed many hidden talents but none could compete with the victorious Emily Campbell who bowled her way to the top spot in the ladies.

Team B consisted of Eric Murphy; David Wilson; David Kyle; Harry Kirk; Chris Neely and Janice McDonald. With some serious power shots and a few strikes, the competition was heavy between Eric and David Wilson. However in the end maturity overcame youth with Eric emerging as the winner.

Team C consisted of Jim McCaw; Robert Boyd (Winner); Eric McBride and Francis Walsh. The all male group displayed their own styles and powered through the shots, finishing ahead of Team A and B, although towards the end of the game some confusion arose as to who had the winning score. In the end, by default, Robert Boyd claimed the victory.

A great night’s craic and entertainment was enjoyed by all participating.
