Cruise Control15/9/07 - North Down, IAM HQOn this sunny Saturday, Bangor seafront saw the arrival over 150 of the best modified and performance vechiles in Ireland to participate in Cruise Control, as organised by the PSNI and BangorCruise.co.uk. North Down Advanced Motorists where delighted to be invited along by the PSNI to raise the awareness of advanced driving within the younger driving community. The event was a great success with the North Down group generating a high level of interest amongst the show-goers. As well as the cars on display, there were other attractions such as a Sound-Off competition and a mock accident scene. This involved the local emergncy services staging a road accident and playing it out as if it were real life by cutting the cars apart to free the victims from the wreckage and then air-lifting them by helicopter from the scene. The North Down group would like to thank George Goldie OBE (IAM HQ) and Ben Devlin (IAM Young Driver Network), for coming across from the mainland, as well as all their local members, for assisting on the day.
